Dr.Makkapati
Dr. Padmini Makkapati joined us at the end of July this year. She has been practicing for over 10 years in veterinary medicine and surgery. She has been working very hard since she started full time, taking care of our hospitalized patients 24-7. Her care and expertise have been superb assets to the care we bring to your family members.
She has been also busy at home with her recent move, organizing school for the kids and we hope eventually to allow her time for unpacking and getting some rest! She previously worked in Toronto and spent a couple of years in Cincinnati Ohio while her husband was finishing his masters. He moved back last November and we were fortunate to be able to scoop her up to join our team and she has been fantastic! She will be one of the voices that will be caring for the after hours pager as well. Thank you so much Dr. Padmini.
Dr.Mahboob
Dr. Tahir Mahboob joined us at the end of August this year. He graduated with distinction and completed his Honor’s Masters in Veterinary Microbiology as well. He has been in private practice for over 14 years. He worked subsequently mainly in Scarborough and Toronto before trying out Orlando Florida for 3 years. He has moved his family back to Canada and they are busy also getting organized for the new school year for the kids. He has had little time between moving, working, getting to know the local schools for himself and his family. We hope to get him on a more reasonable rotation for time with his family and friends. He will also be one of the caring voices for your pet’s after hours needs as well as the time and care day to day that he will be sharing his expertise. His small animal medicine and surgical experience is outstanding as well as his many years of experience with exotic medicine. Thank you for your invaluable assistance in our family Dr. Tahir!
Alexa
Alexa graduated in 1999. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since then. She has also been an American Animal Hospital Association member since 2002. She joined our family mid July this year and her caring and expertise with small animal and exotics has been exemplary. She has been a wonderful addition and her experience helps complete our care and treatments of your family members at Waterloo West Animal Hospital. Thank you Alexa!
She recently took time off for a short vacation. She spent the time with her family and friends. She is looking forward to her daughter starting at a new school early September. She and her daughter are both fluent in French and English. She is only taking one more weekend off for herself this fall in October. Her favorite pastime is scrapbooking and that little time off is often spent trying to catch up with her passion. Her favorite seasons are spring and fall so we are hoping for a great one for her!
Melissa(VMR)
Melissa (VMR) has not taken any personal time, she has been very busy with her daughter and she is even watching her take her first steps already. She will be back as of October 12th, 2010! We are so looking forward to her return. She has been such a pillar to Waterloo West Animal Hospital for over 10 years. Her caring and experience has been greatly appreciated and so she has been greatly missed by all. Welcome back soon Melissa!
Jenna
Jenna (RVT) is now in her second year at Waterloo West Animal Hospital. She has been an avid enthusiast of the fitness club since early this summer along with Jennifer our groomer. She has had very busy weekend with family get together, camping with friends, taking only one week off at the end of August and early September for herself and going to friend’s bridal showers and subsequent wedding events. She is obviously fit, very active outside the clinic and still reserving lots of energy for her hard work at Waterloo West Animal Hospital. Thank you Jenna!
Groomer Jen
Jennifer has been busy with her dogs and became an avid enthusiast of fitness clubs since early this summer, working along side with Jenna. She celebrated her birthday in May and now is fitter than ever! She has been very busy grooming 5 days every week at Waterloo West Animal Hospital. Jennifer will be particularly busy with grooming month for all of September for the pets. She rescued an infant kitten this summer and nursed him until he was old enough to eat kitten food. She has now officially adopted him and his name is Ron. Welcome Ron and congratulation on your new and wonderful family! Keep up the great work Jennifer!
Shannon
Shannon (RVT) has only been able to take sporadic bits of time off for the summer. She is in her fifth year at Waterloo West Animal Hospital. She has been able to go to her favorite baseball games with her beau, spent a camping weekend for one of her best friend’s wedding up North and they are planning another “real” camping trip over the Labor Day weekend. She has also been busy with puppies throughout the summer and is looking at another few months of puppyhood towards the end of September with her dogs. Never a dull moment! All of her pets are currently healthy otherwise and she is grateful for no other surprises of those natures! She has been hard at work as always and is still our Queen of the healthy hug challenge and weight management and loss for our pets and yours. Thank you Shannon!
Jen
Jen (RVT) was away in June on vacation and travelled to Eastern Canada. She will be going to Nova Scotia for the first two weeks of September for another well deserved time off. She has been working hard at work, home and babysitting. We hope she has a great trip, safe and fun!
She has been diligent as always with her care of the pets in the clinic, hospitalized and surgical patients. Her dedication of more than 11 years to Waterloo West Animal Hospital is greatly appreciated as always. Thank you Jen!
Charmain
Charmain (RVT) was married this summer, on June 26, 2010! Congratulation! She and her husband has only taken a few weekends off for cottaging and personal time together but so far haven’t planned a honeymoon together. They also purchased their first home! Congratulation again! They have been able to enjoy some weekends off of tractor pull events and are looking forward to a few more in September as well. She has been a superb technician and very caring for all the pets and cases, medical and surgical in assisting all the veterinarians. We are grateful for your upbeat personality and superb care and helpfulness with all of the pets. Thank you Charmain!
